Yanfeng originated from a wooden mold manufacturing workshop and later entered the automotive industry, becoming a supplier of automotive parts. By 2024, Yanfeng has a history of nearly 88 years. In this year's latest global ranking of automotive parts suppliers, Yanfeng ranks 15th in the world.
Yanfeng has multiple business units, including interior, seating, passive safety, cabin electronics, doors, and exterior. These five parts have developed independently in the past few decades, with each sector basically ranking among the top three in the industry. In order to maintain continuity, Yanfeng is also actively changing.
With the rise of Generation Z, their understanding of cars has changed from being a means of transportation to a mobile private space. Their new expectation is to integrate highly interactive personalized intelligent travel experiences such as camping, resting, watching movies, and gaming.
With the integration of automotive application scenarios, the interior is no longer just a pure interior. Therefore, Yanfeng has applied the new design concept of FUILD SPACE for the first time on the XiM25, perfectly solving the travel needs of the new generation's lifestyle. By upgrading user interaction connected to intelligence and injecting design aesthetics that blend with technology, we aim to create a comfortable travel experience from body to mind.
User interaction connected to intelligence
In the rapidly changing era, consumers' demand for cars is not limited to transportation, they are eager for more intelligent and interactive travel experiences.
On the XiM25, Yanfeng creatively integrates ultra clear floating image technology with interior optical surfaces through ultra wide panoramic stereoscopic head up display. The ultra wide display screen spanning between the two A-pillars is rear projected to a more comfortable line of sight position, further enhancing the visual interaction experience of virtual and real integration.
ClickRim? Modular steering wheel showcases novelty. Yanfeng adopts a modular concept and designs automatic wrapping connectors to achieve automatic wrapping of the steering wheel.
The steering wheel includes a proprietary self-aligning housing and electrical connection system, as well as pre installed hands-free detection and heating modules, greatly reducing the overall complexity of the steering wheel product.
Moreover, this process supports multiple coating material choices, saving about two-thirds of traditional production time for each steering wheel and significantly improving the efficiency of steering wheel assembly.
Yanfeng's unique "gentle wind" air outlet technology can simulate natural wind, combined with special blade structure design and cost-effective motor combination. The airflow speed blown out changes linearly in a sine curve, bringing a wave like undulating wind sensation, allowing drivers and passengers to feel like they are basking in the spring breeze inside the car.
Meanwhile, the ultra narrow natural wind electric air outlet can be combined with cabin functional lighting technology to achieve a more intuitive interactive experience.
It is worth mentioning that the XiM25 is equipped with a centimeter level positioning ultra wideband digital key.
The mobile device equipped with the digital key can automatically unlock the doors when approaching within 3 meters of the vehicle, and can accurately control the opening and closing of different doors and welcome guests based on their position.
This digital key not only provides personalized services for multiple users, but also supports simultaneous use in multiple scenarios.
Comfortable experience of embracing body and mind
Safety and comfort have always been the focus of attention for car consumers. In recent years, people have put forward higher requirements for comfortable driving experience than ever before, and also have high hopes for seat adjustment in multiple scenarios and modes.
Yanfeng's comprehensive seat integrated safety solution showcases its unique advantages in seat and active passive safety integration. On XiM25, SafeUnit? The seat integrated safety technology is fully demonstrated.
This solution is composed of various innovative components around the seat frame, including Pre Crash seat quick recovery, seat follow-up mechanism, seat integrated seat belt, seat cushion airbag, and head cover airbag.
It aims to provide comprehensive protection for passengers in various forward positions from standard sitting posture to large angle lying down in the event of frontal, side, small offset collisions and rollover accidents.
The sliding mechanism of Yanfeng's follow-up sunroof can be perfectly adapted to the roof shape curves of various car models. The 1520mm ultra long sliding distance can cover the entire roof, and is matched with various sizes of display screens including ultra wide display screens, achieving a 58.5 ° rotation of the screen in front and back. The application of this institution makes it possible for the roof screen to meet the needs of both front and rear passengers.
The adaptive zero gravity seat that can rotate laterally is also noteworthy in terms of technology. With innovative seat movement mechanism and silent brushless motor, the front seats can rotate 90 ° laterally and slide for a long distance, suitable for various new usage scenarios in L2~L3 level autonomous driving states.
In addition, whether fully or partially lying down, with carefully adjusted floating leg rests, drivers and passengers can enjoy a home experience inside the cabin. Yanfeng adds a suspension layer filled with ultra soft PES silk between the seat surface and foam, providing excellent breathability and wrapping performance for passengers.
The unique fluffy feeling makes people feel as if they are suspended in the air. After the rear seats are fully extended, they can become a super sized bed with a length of nearly 2 meters, creating the ultimate in car rest experience.
Design aesthetics integrated with technology
Today's consumers have unique aesthetic preferences for the exterior and interior design of cars, and they also hope that the cabin can integrate design aesthetics to showcase unique taste and personality.
The XiM25 ultra-thin optical film set with imitation Beimu texture can present a sense of luxury and delicacy through the micro nano optical texture inherent in the automotive grade optical film.
By using an ultra-thin optical film group with a thickness of only 5mm, multi-layer high-resolution texture effects can be achieved, reducing the thickness by 80% and the volume of the lighting structure assembly by 50% compared to traditional light guide plates.
Yanfeng's newly launched ecoSkin? The interior surface of Lux is made of recyclable thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) material, which can be applied to most visible surfaces of the car cabin. Its delicate texture and customized multi-color combination scheme present a sense of luxury.
At the same time, mini LED direct display is integrated with a large area of embedded panels, combined with transparent surfaces and flexible display technology, to achieve clear display effects and dynamic lighting effects on complex curved surfaces.
The suspended atmosphere lighting of the entire cabin is also a highlight of XiM25, which adopts a fully hidden LED light bead lighting layout scheme. In the early development stage of the project, self-developed lighting software was used for digital simulation.
Through the understanding and development of secondary optics, the lighting characteristics imagined by the designer were fully replicated, achieving what the designer wants and sees.
It is commendable that the touch panel of XiM25 is located in the center of the rear seats, and the user interaction interface can be hidden at any time, which can alleviate the aesthetic fatigue and light pollution caused by the trend of multi screen cockpit. Yanfeng boldly applies Heytech?
The hidden touch panel integrates plastic curved cover and touch feedback technology to achieve special styling and customization functions, seamlessly integrating the interior with electronic displays.
The XiM25 intelligent cockpit not only continues Yanfeng's usual technological innovation ideas, but also demonstrates Yanfeng's profound understanding and respect for the lifestyle of Generation Z. As mentioned by Ni Jiawen, Chief Technology Officer of Yanfeng, "We believe that the ultimate goal of technology is to serve people and meet their needs. With the structural changes of consumer groups, our innovation must also meet the needs of the new generation of consumer groups.
The design concept and technological application of XiM25 are all centered around this core. We look forward to exploring more possibilities with our users and jointly ushering in a new era of intelligent travel
Dialogue with Yanfeng Chief Technology Officer
After experiencing the XiM25 intelligent cockpit, we interviewed Mr. Ni Jiawen, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of the Technology Center of Yanfeng International, to explore the future of Yanfeng and intelligent cockpit.
Question 1: Just now, many innovative technologies were introduced. What is the feedback from the market now?
The display of XiM25 cars has just begun, and next year we plan to go to Europe. We are truly aiming for the next generation. All of our innovations are next-generation mass-produced, with a certain degree of operability and implementability.
Question 2: Nowadays, smart cockpits are equipped with large screens and zero gravity seats. How can Yanfeng help customers make differentiation?
In the past, having a large screen, voice control, and gesture control in the cockpit was called an intelligent cockpit. However, Yanfeng was the first to extend the intelligent cockpit to the entire cockpit, including comfort, safety, convenience, and variable scenes, rather than just a display screen.
Speaking of convergence, Yanfeng has never converged before. We have completely changed the usage scenario inside the car. Many scenarios have long sliding rails, and more than 95% of current mass-produced cars use Yanfeng's long sliding rails, which is a characteristic of Yanfeng's intelligent cockpit scene changes.
The XiM25 intelligent cockpit showcases a brand new display technology with a completely different display screen structure.
The combination of the sky screen, starry sky roof, and sunshade is almost the best choice for MPV and SUV models. With the improvement of lighting technology, Yanfeng will definitely lead the next era of intelligent cockpit.
Leading the transformation of the cockpit requires not only scenarios, but also basic technologies to implement. The combination of all points forms the innovation of Yanfeng, which is its advantage.
Question 3: How do you view the future trend of integrated cabin and driving?
I also agree that the integration of cabin and driving will be a trend, which brings new opportunities, such as the collision safety of zero gravity seats. Yanfeng has conducted more than 2000 finite element analyses and has a large amount of data.
Our innovative research will not stop, and we also need to create the next generation of safer cars, which will create new models and facilitate new collaborations. Our product will definitely have cabin driving cooperation in the future.
Question 4: Many companies are currently conducting full stack self-developed intelligent cockpits. What do you think?
Just like everyone doing ADAS, only a few stayed later. It's not that Yanfeng is their only choice, but we are the most competitive enterprise in intelligent cockpit.
We have all the physical components inside the cockpit and the big data of the entire scene. This is the foundation that supports Yanfeng's continuous innovation and development of the entire cockpit.
Having all the technology is a challenge for every car manufacturer. I think in the future, autonomous driving will definitely return to two or three systems, like today's smartphones, which can have various brands, but the main operating systems are Apple, Android, and Huawei. Yanfeng's cockpit has a market share of about 30% in China, and we also have a certain market share abroad, which is the basis for supporting our cockpit development.
Question 5: Nowadays, the replacement of new energy vehicles is very fast, basically one generation per year. For traditional component manufacturers, how to coordinate the acceleration of the research and development cycle of new products?
The cycle is one year, which is based on the needs of users and not the will of manufacturers. We must keep up with this pace. We have taken two paths, one is to accelerate the development process.
Our process has undergone significant changes and is completely different from the previous development process.
Now we have strategic suppliers and collaborative suppliers, and everyone is in the same ecosystem. Once we receive the business, we start synchronously and follow the process to shorten 30 months to 15 months.
On the other hand, there are platform based products. It takes at least two years to verify technical security, so we need to do platformization in order to accelerate development progress. Otherwise, the cost and time cannot be borne.
Yanfeng adopts two approaches to adapt to the current R&D cycle issues, with acceleration being one path and platformization being the other.
Question 6: Currently, our industry is particularly competitive, and the demand for cost reduction is also very high. How can we balance the need to invest in research and development while also meeting the cost reduction requirements of car companies?
The industry is indeed very competitive, but we need to understand how to overcome it. The simple "roll" price is a lack of methods, we need to have the concept of hedging. Using roll technology to hedge, others cannot do it, but Yanfeng can do it. Technological leadership is definitely a hedge.
Just now I mentioned the development progress. While others took two years, I only need one and a half years, which is also a form of hedging.
We have many methods, rather than simply accompanying the market in a price war. Price wars always have lower prices, and their profit model is no longer product profitability. Moreover, the price cannot create new technologies.
